Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Microtransactions in Wolfenstein: Youngblood are summarized as...

When the game first launched you could use Premium Currencies to buy pay-to-win items in the form of XP-boosts, health boosts, and armor boosts. But oddly this was only possible on the PS4 release. This was quickly patched out and put down as a mistake that should have been removed before the games launch.

I'm willing to give them the benefit of doubt here, but it still raises the question; Why was this a consideration in the first place?

Youngblood features a "friend pass" allowing you to invite a friend to play co-op without them having to purchase the game themselves.
