Trackmania
Microtransactions in Trackmania are summarized as...
Trackmania uses an unusual business model. The base game is free, but to gain access to more features there are two different subscription tiers, both on a yearly basis. Both subscriptions aren't terribly expensive, and if you don't plan on playing for more than a year it's likely cheaper than if it were a regular one time purchase game.
There's no further microtransactions of any kind in the game. Parts of the game require a subscription and that's it.
The free to play version seems fair. You get access to a decent amount of content. If you want to play custom maps, or create them yourself, you will need to pay. Ads for the subscription are never forced in your face.
All it comes down to is; Are you comfortable not owning the game and instead only buying access to the game for a limited time?
