Quake Champions

Microtransactions in Quake Champions are summarized as...

Quake Champions contains many premium purchases. Most of these are cosmetic only, but not all. All items are purchased with a premium currency called "Platinum". Platinum comes in bundles that roughly equal 1000 Platinum for 10 USD. Platinum can be earned for free in limited amounts through events, but usually this is not enough to buy anything of value.

At it's core Quake Champions is a hero shooter with unlockable characters. Each character has unique abilities and stats, altering the gameplay experience. These can be earned through free-to-play means with an in-game currency called "Shards". Alternatively you can purchase each character for 250 Platinum, requiring the purchase of the 500 Platinum bundle for roughly 5 USD. Alternatively all character can be unlocked through a bundle for 2000 Platinum.

Each character has their own set cosmetics. These include outfits, accessories, and colors. Cheaper items are priced around 125-250 Platinum, more expensive items go for roughly 750-1500 Platinum. Many items can only be acquired during limited time events or sales. The game also contains plenty of cosmetics that can be earned for free.

The game contains many unlockable weapons. Most of these can be unlocked for free, but there are many weapons variants that can only be unlocked through the premium currency. The price on these varies wildly. Most go for 500 Platinum (roughly 5 USD), but some go for 2000 Platinum (roughly 20 USD). Some weapons also have color variants, which need to be purchased separately.

A battle pass is available for 1000 Platinum. The pass has a free tier which is the primary source for the games free currency. The rewards include the premium currency itself, but no where near for the pass to pay for itself. When the season runs out all items that were not unlocked are lost. Levels can be purchased with the premium currency to speed up progression.

The game offers XP Boosts in order to speed up progression, this can be purchased with both the premium and free currency.

The game sells some cosmetic bundles. One of these is a "Pure Gold" premium bundle. This bundle include a golden outfit color, profile icon, and champion podium. This sells for an incredible 10.000 Premium, or roughly 100 USD.
