Project: Playtime

Microtransactions in Project: Playtime are summarized as...

This game makes use of all the monetization we've come to expect from modern games. This includes character skins, playable characters, and a battle pass. All of these are purchased with premium currencies that often do not match the price of the items, forcing you to spend more for less.

This game is largely aimed at children. For this demographic it can be difficult to attribute value to money, making them an easily exploited group of people. The developers of these games know this very well. While it's easy to blame the kids' parents, it's the developers that actively choose to target a vulnerable audience.
