Planet Zoo releases a large content update every few months. This comes with a bunch of free content, but it also includes a new paid DLC.

Over time the game has released a fairly large amount of DLC. This is fine for players who already own the game and purchase the DLC as they come out. For newer players this might mean a large investment in order to unlock all content. There are premium editions of the game that come with all DLC included, but these are still very pricey. The game and all DLC costs roughly 200 USD at the moment, more DLC might follow.
