The developers have stated that all future content and updates will be released for free. This includes both during and after the early-access period.

The game will support modding through the Steam Workshop. This will include additional content in the form of in-game items, cosmetics, and more. This might mean that content that would otherwise be sold in similar games will be available for free given the community provides it.
