Hot Wheels Unleashed

Microtransactions in Hot Wheels Unleashed are summarized as...

The game doesn't feature direct in-game microtransactions, but does feature a large amount cosmetic and functional content for additional purchases.

The primary premium content comes in the form of extra cars. There are lots of individual cars to purchase. These are not just cosmetic, as each car has varying stats.

The game also features purchasable environments and track builder modules, which are both used to create your own playable tracks.

The game also features purely cosmetic content in the form of themed packs to customize your "basement". These tend to be themed items such as different wallpapers, flooring, posters, etc. But also contains customization for your profile, such as icons, tags, etc.

Items can all be purchased directly without purchasing a premium currency. A lot of cars and cosmetics can be purchased individually or through larger packs. This is either through expansion packs or through season passes, which are essentially collections of expansion packs. Altogether these packs are quite expensive.

Next to purchasable items the game also feature in-game earn-able content. This is all content that is similar to the premium content but is earned through purchasing lootboxes with in-game earned currency. Items that you do not want can be exchanged for in-game currency, which can then be used to buy more lootboxes. There is no way to purchases these lootboxes for money.
