Dead Island 2

Microtransactions in Dead Island 2 are summarized as...

The game features multiple DLCs that add additional story content. These can be purchased individually or through an Expansion Pass, which could be purchased before these DLCs even existed.

Along with story content, the game also features quite a few smaller DLCs in the form of character and weapon packs. Most of these consist of cosmetics, but there are some gameplay-altering items as well, such as skill perks.

All of the cosmetic packs are bought with real money through storefronts, rather than an in-game shop.

The game can be purchased in three editions:

- The standard edition grants you access to the game.
- The Deluxe edition grants you access to some character and weapon packs.
- The Gold edition grants you access to more character and weapon packs as well as the aforementioned story DLCs for the first season.
The base game is priced at $60 USD, the Deluxe edition is $65 USD, and the Gold edition is $80 USD. This is cheaper than buying each of the granted items individually, but of course, you may have never bought them in the first place.
